Individual project research objective: Enabling in-situ process analytical technologies based on Chiroptical Spectroscopy and Second Harmonic Generation to determine the solid phase enantiomeric excess in continuous resolution processes.

Background

Raghunath graduated with an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering (Anna University, India) and followed by a postgraduate degree in Industrial chemistry (National University of Singapore & Technical University of Munich). Work experience includes an year of service in Doha Technical Laboratory, Qatar and a couple of years of research assistantship in NEST laboratory, Pisa, Italy. He will continue his research with Prof. Joop Ter Horst at University of Strathclyde on "Chiroptical Spectroscopy in Suspensions". 

Research Interests

Analytical sciences and Separation techniques, peptide synthesis - Solid phase synthesis (Resin) & wet phase synthesis, Process Analytical Tools involving chemometrics and spectroscopy.
